A new study has revealed that Dubai residents spent an average of 80 hours of 2018 stuck in traffic jams.

The report, released by traffic information supplier Inrix, showed that Dubai residents spent 30 more hours of last year stuck in traffic jams than those in the capital, with Abu Dhabi residents spending an average of 50 hours of 2018 queueing on the roads.

But we don’t have it as bad as some places. Dubai ranks at only 79th globally on the report, with residents of the city of Bogota in Columbia spending an eye-watering 272 hours behind the wheel during traffic jams in 2018. While Bogota took the top spot, it was followed by Rome, which averaged 254 hours and Dublin, where they spend an average of 246 hours in traffic.

According to Gulf News, the Inrix 2018 Global Traffic Scorecard looks at traffic congestion in more than 200 cities worldwide to produce its annual report. The latest study, however, is not comparable to the previous, 2017 edition due to the new metrics and criteria used in the analysis of data.
