Looking for a top spot to impress on a Saturday night? You need to check this out…

You might be familiar with Bagatelle as the French fine dining restaurant with a sure-fire party vibe complete with table-dancing waiters and sparkler shows. But, it’s also home to a brilliant, more low-tempo way to end your weekend on Saturdays – Bagatelle Unplugged.

The fancy French spot opens from 8pm, but you’ll want to make a reservation a little later than that to catch the sets from the live band.

Cosy more intimate booths line the walls, or grab a table for two right in front of the stage to feel like you’re closest to the action.

On the menu, you can expect an array of Bagatelle’s signature dishes, as well as some menu items recently added by executive chef Timothy Newton.

The tartare de thon (Dhs65) is a brilliant twist on a tuna tartare, perfectly plated with avocado and a soy lime dressing, while the signature salade de tomates (Dhs70) is a veggie must-try, with Datterini tomatoes marinated and served atop a rich feta cream and topped with mixed nuts.

For mains, don’t miss the ‘Côtes d’Agneau Grillées’, another beautifully presented dish of grilled lamb chops with lightly honey glazed carrots, a carrot puree and flavourful jus.

Sound-wise, expect to hear some more traditional and modern covers of an array of pop and blues hits that range from John Lennon’s Imagine to covers of The Weeknd. While it’s a more low-tempo offering than Bagatelle’s livelier Thursday and Friday nights, don’t be surprised to find yourself on the dancefloor by the end of their second set…
