Two new club openings, Elrow and the return of The Bawse…

The Dubai clubbing scene is thriving right now, with big names coming to town every weekend, it’s hard to keep up. This weekend will also see the opening of two long-awaited clubs in Dubai, Sky2.0 and Mantis.

Here are nine big nights to check out this weekend.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Sky2.0 will open

Lebanon’s iconic Skybar is set to open its doors in Dubai Design District on Wednesday March 13. Wednesday nights are themed with the reggae-inspired called ‘Oh Na Na’. Although we don’t have images of the sleek new venue yet, its Lebanese counterpart can house up to 2,500 guests, so we’re expecting a similar super-sized venue when Sky2.0 throws open its doors.

Thursday: Doorly at Zero Gravity

British DJ and producer Doorly has been on the dance music scene since 2008. With a helping hand from Pete Tong, he became known for his remixes of huge songs by Dizzee Rascal, Basement Jaxx and Calvin Harris. He’s here to launch a new brunch on Thursday evenings, called ‘Club Inc’ which will serve up a six-hour package of unlimited food and drink from 8pm to 2am for a bargain Dhs199.

Thursday: NSI and DJ Weiss at The Penthouse

This week Penthouse’s weekly weekend-starter, Skyline Thursdays will be hosted by Mykonos favourite NSI and British DJ and producer Weiss. Expect a journey of house music discovery in the chic, open-air bar.

Thursday: Bob Sinclar at Base

Get ready to re-live the best of the noughties as Bob Sinclar headlines Base Dubai on Thursday March 14. The French producer was behind some of the biggest hits of the early noughties including ‘World Hold On’, ‘Love Generation’ and ‘Rock This Party’. Best of all, it’s ladies’ night, so girls can enjoy complimentary drinks until 2am as well as a host of live entertainment, light shows and exciting performances.

Friday: Elrow at Soho Beach

The latest Elrow event will have an ‘Enchanted Forest’ theme, and will see Dubai’s party-goers flock to Meydan to witness a seven-hour party kicking off at 9pm. The night will see performances from Eats Everything, Toni Varga, George Privatti, and local talents Jixo & Danz, Adam Graca, Mar+Mer, and Jean B. Friday: Rick Ross at Drai’s

Purple Lamborghinis at the ready – Rick Ross will be performing at Drai’s this Friday March 15 and at White on Saturday March 16. Early bird tickets for the gig at Drai’s are available now, priced at Dhs100 for ladies including a welcome drink, and Dhs300 for guys including two house drinks. After early bird, general access tickets will be available for Dhs200 for ladies with two drinks included, and Dhs400 for guys with three drinks included in the ticket price.

Friday: Mantis opens in DIFC

Mantis can be found in Emirates Financial Towers. The 8,500 square foot space boasts a state-of-the-art light and sound system, a central DJ booth with a dramatic mantis head on the front, and a long bar which runs almost all the way down one side of the lounge. Initially, Mantis will be open on Thursdays and Fridays, with more nights set to be introduced in the new year. The opening night will offer welcome cocktails to guests on arrival.

Friday: Super Sako at White

Super Sako is an Armenian pop star sensation, whose hit ‘Mi Gna’ was endlessly played in Dubai clubs throughout 2018. He made his UAE debut last year and will be returning to White’s Bizaar event on Friday March 15 and to MAD Abu Dhabi on Thursday March 14.

Friday: The Magician at Zero Gravity

Since 2011, The Magician has responsible for filling dance floors with his version of Lykke Li’s I Follow Rivers. The feel good song-maker also had a huge hit with his tune ‘Sunlight’. Ever the crowd-pleaser, this DJ will have you singing along to his mixes for the whole night.
