Sponsored: Equestrian fun for the whole family with a performance from Dubai Police, a pony jumping show, horse ‘ballet’, equestrian art gallery, a horse auction and more.

Dubai International Horse Fair, together with the International Arabian Horse Championship, trot into town for three days of equestrian events at the Dubai World Trade Centre from March 21 to 23.

As the region’s largest trade platform for the equine sector, the Dubai International Horse Fair  brings together leading equestrian equipment companies, owners, breeders, stables, clubs, veterinarians, services and care products, all serving the needs of both professional and leisure riders.

Besides the exhibiting stands, there’s plenty of entertainment on offer throughout the weekend. Visitors can watch purebred Arabian horses compete in the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, catch a Spanish horse performance, and sign the kids up for the Hobby Horse Challenge.

You can even bid for your own horse in the auction, visit an equestrian-themed art gallery or even catch a rare performance by the Dubai Police band and their canine patrol – plus the force’s own exhilarating horseback tent-pegging contest.

It’s not all horsing around though – the Emirates Falconers Club will make their debut appearance at the Dubai International Horse Fair with a showcase of their unique breed of falcons, hosting live hunting sessions and sharing expertise on the rich history of the Falcon and its special place in Emirati culture.

Also joining the Fair for the first time will be the Arabian Saluki Centre and some of their most prized Saluki hunting dogs, where the focus will be on the art of hunting with these beautiful creatures who – unlike most canine breeds – rely on sight rather than scent to track their prey at an incredibly fast pace.

All this, and so much more. Best of all, it’s absolutely free to attend. For information, check out the show’s official website, dihf.ae
