Many residents noticed the change on Thursday morning…

Noticed a change on your phone this morning? Well it’s because UAE network providers changed their network name to ‘UAE Child Day’ on the occasion of Emirati Children’s Day.

Many Dubai residents noticed the change on the morning of Thursday March 14, with Emirati Children’s Day being marked on March 15. Emirati Children’s Day was introduced in 2018 and was adopted to coincide with the approval of the Child Protection Law 3.

The day was announced in 2018 by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. Speaking to state news agency wam at the time, Sheikha Fatima said that the new day will help the country champion children’s rights as guaranteed by law without discrimination.

UAE Child Day is the latest change to happen to phones across the UAE, following on from the change to ‘Sandoqwatn-Etisalat earlier in the week.

Sandooq Al Watn is an initiative that was created by a group of Emirati businessmen to bring the community together, along with the UAE leadership to achieve sustainable development, a decent life and a bright future for all citizens.
