Gents, grab your tweed suit and loafers, manscape that moustache and get ready to fire up your Royal Enfield, because this year’s worldwide Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride (and Genteel Ladyfolk) brings vintage enthusiasts together again for a common cause.

On September 28 bikers in Dubai are invited to join a worldwide movement by giving a two-wheeled salute to prostate cancer by dressing dapper and touring the town. Over 250 cities around the world are taking part in the initiative, which was inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper.

Last year, the UAE chapter kicked off from Bikers Café and a dozen riders dressed in crisp suits and monocles riding their cafe racers, custom-built Royal Enfields, and Buells along Beach Road.

“Due to the popularity of the event, we expect 40 to 50 bikes to take part this year,” said Adel Gasan, one of the organisers for this years event. “We’ll be setting off from Café Rider in Al Quoz and riding in convoy towards JBR.”

But despite a come-one-come-all policy, Adel is keen to point out that the ride has a few specific guidelines: “The distinguished Gentlemen’s ride is a ride for classic-styled bikes only. While we’d love to ride with other makes and models, the essential feel of the event would be lost if we opened it to other modes of transport.”
