A new trendy nightspot has announced its launch plans for January 2015 in Dubai Marina, insisting it ‘won’t break the bank’.

And Lounge, as it will be called, is a venture by the team behind high-end steakhouse Ruth’s Chris at The Address.

Situated directly next to its bigger cousin, the ‘eccentric venue’ claims to draw on a baffling cross-section of popular culture references, including Pulp Fiction, Salvador Dali and La Dolce Vita.

According to official information released by And Lounge, guests should expect ‘mismatched-yet-charming surroundings in an industrial, chic setting’. They add ‘all free spirits and individual attitudes are welcome and encouraged’, and that ‘every visit will feel like coming to your best friend’s house, with all manner of odds and ends and enticing peculiarities’.

So this is certainly not your run-of-the-mill ‘bar’. In fact, we’re told it’s even part garden, choosing as it does to grow its own herbs – used in cocktails served in milk bottles, goat’s head mugs, jam jar’s or even trophies  – on a terrace overlooking the Marina.

Live bands and DJs will pay particular homage to 1920’s style jazz and anything up to 1990’s classic pop.

And Lounge will be open four nights a week from 6pm to 3am. What’s On will bring you pictures of this Pulp Fiction/Salvador Dali spot just as soon as we can. We think it would help.

Meanwhile, feedback continues to be good following the relaunch of District 47 (formally District Lounge), Dubai’s highest rooftop club, located on the 47th floor of the new Warwick Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Speaking about the District 47 relaunch and relocation, founder Alan Honein said: “We know our guests and followers very well; they are sophisticated, particular and trendy yet down-to-earth and our new location is set to emulate this.”
