It’s been a while since Atlantis has flown in a big star to perform on the Palm, but now the Dubai landmark has come up trumps with not one, not two, but three major names set to play Live @Atlantis this month, and all on the same night!

1. Years & Years

years-years

One of the most exciting British bands of 2015, this synth-pop trio is fronted by the multi-talented singer Olly Alexander, who – in addition to releasing a number one album, Communion – has been casually cultivating a burgeoning film career on the side.

The 25-year-old stars in this year’s Funny Bunny, a low-budget romance that he also co-wrote. Take it easy Olly, you’re making the rest of us look bad.

Here’s their mega-hit King:

2. Rudimental

The master collaborators will return to rock Nasimi Beach on December 18, having delighted the crowd at The Act back in July with a secret gig at the world’s highest theatre club. This time the drum and bass band has given us a little more notice ahead of their arrival, so there is plenty of time to snap up tickets.

In the meantime, here’s a reminder of some of Piers, Amir, Kesi and Leon’s hottest collaborations.

1. Feel the Love, with John Newman

This is the track that really made listeners sit up and take notice of Rudimental. Featuring a distinctive vocal performance from 25-year-old Yorkshireman John Newman, this song was the first UK number one for the East London four piece.

2. Waiting All Night, with Ella Eyre

This huge hit also rocketed to the top spot, with a little help from the impressive lungs of 21-year-old English singer Ella Eyre. Her guest spot on the drum and bass track helped to propel her into the public eye.

3. Free, with Emile Sande

Emile Sande’s music became so ubiquitous on the airwaves at one point that we were ready to consign Next to Me to the audio dustbin for good. This team effort with Rudimental made us like her again.

3. Roger Sanchez

Bringing some experience to this line-up of relative up and comers is veteran DJ Roger Sanchez, who has been making people dance all over the world for two decades now. The American Grammy Award winner is becoming something of a regular here in the UAE – he played at Q43 (which scooped Favourite Bar at the 2015 What’s On Awards) in the Media One Hotel back in August, and now he’s coming back again to spin some tunes for partygoers at Nasimi.
