Dreamy opera quartet Il Divo are coming to Dubai, here are the details…

Popera group Il Divo are warming up their vocal chords for a Dubai gig on February 12 (just in time for Valentine’s Day).

Created by pop mastermind Simon Cowell in 2003, the truly multi-national group is made up of the Swiss Urs Buhler, Spaniard Carlos Marin, Frenchman Sébastien Izambard and American David Miller.

The lads will sing the songs from their new album Amor & Pasion, while also dusting off their crowd favourites.

Their new album features an operatic take on Julio Iglesias’ A La Mujeres Que Yo Ame, the classic tango Por Una Cabeza (which you’ll remember from the Scent of a Woman soundtrack if you’re over 35) as well as a Latin treatment of Beethoven’s Ode To Joy. Here’s a taste of the album:

The group have sold 30 million albums worldwide, have 50 number one records and have already completed four world tours.

These guys combine talent with mass appeal (and fabulous Armani suits) – a commercially winning combination.

Unfortunately, being wooed by opera’s most famous hunks doesn’t come cheap, with tickets starting at Dhs580 and climbing up to Dhs2,980 for prime seats.

Meydan Ampitheatre, Nad Al Sheba. 7pm, Friday February 12. More info and tickets here
