Our pick of the movies out in Dubai cinemas this week is Brooklyn, a gorgeous romantic drama starring Saoirse Ronan.

Here are all the flicks you’ll be able to go see from tomorrow…

BROOKLYN

This critically acclaimed and fantastic drama tells the story of Eilis (Saoirse Ronan), a young girl who emigrates from Ireland to NYC and ends up falling in love with a New Yorker. It’s been nominated for 3 Oscars and is being lauded for its ability to tug at the emotions while also stimulating the mind.

CONCUSSION

Will Smith is brilliant as Dr. Bennet Omalu in this true story of a doctor going head to head with the NFL when he discovers the lasting effects concussion is having on America’s football players. Even if you’re a gridiron newbie this is still an eye-opening film, and Will Smith’s triumphant performance is nothing short of a touchdown.

SISTERS

Saturday Night Live alums and Mean Girls co-stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are reunited in this comedy about two sisters who reunite for one last party when their parents sell their family home. Despite relying heavily on gross-out gigs, this comedy is still the teen movie for adults we had no idea we desperately needed.

AMERICAN HERO

Like Will Smith in Hancock, loser Melvin (Stephen Dorff) is blessed with superpowers but doesn’t want to be a hero – that is until a near-death experience turns his life around. Shaky camera work adds grit and realism.
