Free yoga, fashion markets, Latin music – here are five fantastic things to fill your week with.

Monday 1

1. Bend on the beach, for free

yoga

Talise Spa in the Madinat Jumeirah is hosting a wellness month in February, which means heaps of free activities at the luxury spa (we’ll bring you more on that throughout the month). It’s kicking off at the private beach this morning with a free yoga session with resident Yogi Vijay. How Zen. Call to register before going down as spaces are limited.

Talise Spa, Madinat Jumeirah, 8.30am. Free, but do call to register. Tel: +971 4 366 6818. More info on website

2. Get your bolero on

Chilean-born Sergio Catalan is holding a concert at The Fridge tonight, so if Latin ballads and South American jazz and pop are your thing, vaminos, head down there. You’ll be able to eat dinner too, as food truck Yumtingz will be serving up snacks outside.

Here’s a tune by Sergio:

The Fridge, Al Serkal Ave, Al Quoz, doors 7.30pm, show 8pm, Dhs50. More info on Facebook.

Tuesday 2

3. Go to a fashion swap shop

swap-shop

Tonight at Garden on 8 in Dubai Media City you’ll find a cute market packed with boutiques and vintage fashion (we picked up a beautiful silk scarf from a Turkish designer last month). There will also be free mini manicures and free makeovers, and you can grab a spot of dinner and a drink.

Garden on 8, Media One Hotel, Dubai Media City, 6pm to 10pm. More info on Facebook.

4. Or go to a market by the beach

In fact, you could even ‘market hop’ this Tuesday, as Umm Suqeim beachside restaurant Beit Al Bahar are also holding a market today. There will be fashion, jewellery and beauty buys, as well as stuff for the kids and your home. Canapés will be whizzing around for free, and why not have lunch after you shop on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace? Kids brand Mamarland will be there, as will Kiwi, Dubai-based fashion designer Judith Hobby (whose clothes, pictured, are rather chic while still being wearable).

Beit Al Bahar, next door to DOSC (behind Hardees), Umm Suqeim, 10am to 7pm. See Facebook for more.

Wednesday 3

5. Pick up an ‘it girl’ water bottle

bkr

Those who take their activewear seriously have been complaining about the lack of bkr bottles in Dubai for quite some time. Well, you can now buy them here. Yes, they’re overpriced. Yes, they’re just water bottles. But something about the colours and the chic shape have made these bottles quite the sensation. The Nail Spa are selling the bottles as of this week, and the 500ml costs Dhs145 while the 250ml is Dhs110. The only snag is they’re only available in four colours here – Elle, Holiday, Biscous and Lolita (so if you had your eye on the terracotta coloured one you’re out of luck).

Available at all Nail Spas across Dubai. More info on Facebook.
