The Dubai International Film Festival boasts a brilliant line up this year, the 10th. In fact, over the nine days a total of 174 features, shorts and documentaries including 70 world premieres and 11 international premieres from 57 countries in 43 languages from both established and upcoming talent.

What’s On is going to try to get to every single one of them – no promises, of course – but just in case we can’t, we’ve selected some must-sees and given you a taster of each of them right here.

The Secret Life Of Walter Mittywhich was directed by its star, Ben Stiller.

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom starring Idris Elba and  Naomie Harris.

Saving Mr. Bankswhich sees Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson share the screen.

Out of the Furnace featuring Christian Bale and Casey Affleck.

Omar, by Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe winning Palestinian director Hany Abu Assad.
