The first City Half Marathon will take place in Dubai’s DIFC this October…

Are you a keen runner or just fancy setting yourself a challenge? Well it’s time to get signed up for Dubai’s first City Half Marathon, taking place in DIFC this October.

The half marathon will take place on October 25, during Dubai’s annual 30-day fitness challenge. Registration is open now, with tickets priced from Dhs130.

Choose from either a gentle 5km, a more robust 10km or set yourself the ultimate goal by entering in for the 21km.

Happening on Friday October 25, the half-marathon will start in front of The Gate Building then looping around DIFC, giving runners the chance to take in the breathtaking sights of the Burj Khalifa, Emirates Towers and the under construction Museum of the Future as they put themselves through their paces.

The run is open to anyone, from aged 16 to over 60. It’s Dhs285 for the 21km which starts at 6am, Dhs180 for the 10km, starting at 6.30am and Dhs130 to enter the 5km, taking place at at 6.40am.

Khalid Ali Al Awar, Director of Sports Events Department said, “The DIFC is home to some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks and a half marathon in this swanky, urban district will certainly be of huge interest to UAE’s burgeoning band of distance runners, both the fitness-conscious amateurs and the hardened professionals among them.”

When you reach the finish line, you’ll even get a City Half Marathon t-shirt and a participation medal.
