So, when is the next UAE public holiday in 2021?
We’re dreaming of the next long weekend
The first long weekend of the year has already been and gone, so when is the next one?
Well, we won’t have too long to wait before the second Eid celebration is upon us. This year, Arafat Day is likely to fall on July 19, 2021, and Eid Al Adha falling the next day, probably on on July 20.
Under the direction of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the UAE Cabinet announced the UAE public holidays for 2021 and 2022 at the end of last year.

As these dates are subject to the moon sighting, there is room to move here, but we may be in line for a holiday from Monday 19 to Thursday 22, creating a massive six-day break for those who generally have Friday and Saturday off.
After that, we can expect another day off in August. It’s still tentative at this stage, but the Islamic New Year, or Hijri New Year, is expected to fall on Tuesday August 10, 2021. If confirmed, that will mean a midweek break.
In 2021, October 21 will mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). This means we should get a day off on Thursday October 21, giving a three day weekend for those who have Fridays and Saturdays off.
Commemoration Day and National Day are the last UAE public holidays of the year, and we’re likely to get off Wednesday December 1, Thursday 2, and Friday 3, creating a four-day break for those who normally work Sunday to Thursday.
