Zero Gravity’s ‘Cinema on the Sand’ is back for 2022, with screenings of classic movies such as Dirty Dancing, The Notebook, Top Gun and Breakfast at Tiffany’s still to come. Entry to the venue is Dhs75, which is fully redeemable on food and beverages such as popcorn, nachos, chilli cheese fries, chicken wings, chicken shawarma, beefburger, dirty dog and special beverages.

Movie buffs can enjoy a flick under the stars on the rooftop of Galleria Mall on Jumeirah. Vox Cinemas Outdoor is equipped with the best visual technology and surround sound for a fully immersive and exhilarating big-screen experience. There are a variety of seating options for both singles and couples and food and beverages will be served to your seats. There are cabanas available, too.

VOX Cinemas also provides an outdoor movie experience on the rooftop of Aloft Dubai Creek which takes place in a comfortable air-conditioned, outdoor lounge-style setting. It is the first fully licensed outdoor cinema in Dubai and is strictly for guests above the age of 21. Children will be allowed during private bookings. Single seats will cost you Dhs65 and double seats are Dhs130.

New films to watch in cinemas this week: January 7 to 13

Dubai’s only independent cinema, Cinema Akil is located inside Alserkal Avenue – the cultural neighbourhood of Dubai. The arthouse cinema is a must-visit but during the cooler season, it takes over The Yard in the avenue where movie-goers can watch a film under the stars. Wavebreaker Beach and Grill

Hilton Dubai Jumeirah is the latest address in Dubai offering outdoor movie nights, with outdoor family movies now showing every Monday at 5pm and 7.30pm. The free to enter event seas Wavebreaker Bar & Grill set up with cozy sofa seating and blankets, while family movie classics are shown on the big screen right next to the beach. Guests can order drinks and food from the restaurant’s extensive menu, which includes supersized burgers, tacos, healthy salads and a kids menu with a dedicated popcorn station too. On the schedule this March, catch films including The Lion King, La La Land, Frozen and The Devil Wears Prada.
