Have fun at Pier 7’s new sports bar

For those who love a good sports bar, Pier 7 has a new playground that’s perfect for kicking back with friends called Bedrock. Watch the live sporting action across 20 screens around the venue or get in on the action yourself and have a go at darts and the region’s best indoor golf simulator.

Dine at Alaya, a new eastern Mediterranean restaurant in DIFC

Two of Dubai’s restaurant heavyweights, Evgeny Kuzin and Izu Ani (known for creating Gaia, Shanghai Me and most recently La Maison Ani) have teamed up again for yet another DIFC restaurant. Alaya offers up eastern Mediterranean cuisine with Middle Eastern influences. You can expect dishes with carefully selected ingredients and rigorous cooking methods, fresh herbs and spices.

Catch Tchaikovsky – The Best of Swan Lake at The Theatre

SWAN LAKE

This legendary ballet story is one for the entire family. It will be performed by outstanding soloists from leading European ballet companies. Swan Lake is the love story of Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with a Swan Queen, Odette, and swears his allegiance and undying love to her. As a result of a curse by an evil sorcerer, Odette can only take human form between midnight and daybreak. The show is slated for three runs – 3pm, 6pm and 9pm.

Fill your bellies with food from Dubai’s top restaurants

From August 12 to 28, diners can enjoy special-price menus with friends and family at the city’s best casual premium restaurants for a limited time. Just how pocket-friendly? Well, you can get breakfast for Dhs69, a two-course lunch for Dhs95 and a three-course dinner for Dhs150. For the kids, menu prices start from Dhs25. Music fans, British-born Norwegian DJ Alan Walker is returning to Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena for another exhilarating night on Friday, August 26. He will be joined by KSHMR and electronic duo, Syence. DJ Alan is known for his global smash hit Faded and his other global hits include Sing Me to Sleep, Alone, All Falls Down and On My Way, which feature in the video game PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds). This one is not one for the faint-hearted. At Dubai’s first horror cinema, you will watch some of the best horror movies in cinema history, but.. you won’t be alone. And no, we aren’t talking about your seven mates sitting next to you in the cinema. Professional actors will pop up at the film’s tensest moments, so hiding behind your hands won’t save you. Vegans, want to try a new dining spot? Head to Wabi Sabi

Wabi Sabi is Saudi Arabia’s pioneering high-end vegan dining and concept store and it is now open in Al Quoz 2 Pond Park in Dubai. Wabi Sabi specialises in fresh, wholesome and delicious vegan cuisine with signature dishes including the ATM burger and vegan escalope. Head to Courtyard Playhouse and watch Prima Facie

National Theatre Live brings the best of British theatre to screens across the world and this month you can watch another Pinter classic – Prima Facie. Tessa is a young, brilliant barrister who has worked her way up from working-class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross-examining and winning. Indulge in burgers at Farzi Dubai

This modern Indian bistro is launching a new burger menu on August 5. There are six to try from minced roast mutton kebab to a melt-in-your-mouth twist on a veggie burger. For fans of the chicken burger, there’s a spicy traditional chicken burger with Bahai spice and yoghurt chilli, and of course, if you love a classic beef burger, try the Black Angus beef topped with wild mushrooms. For an Indian twist, there’s a butter chicken burger and finally, a portobello panade Burger. The menu is only available for takeaway at Farzi Mall of the Emirates and City Walk or for delivery via Deliveroo.
