Passengers will have to go through Bahrain instead…

British Airways has scrapped a number of flights on its direct Abu Dhabi to London service during Ramadan.

The cancellations seem to begin on May 16, and continue through until June 6. When searching for flights during this time period the British Airways websites says: “Sorry, there are no direct flights for this route”.

Nearly a dozen flights have been affected. The alternative route the airline is offering during this period involves a stopover in Bahrain.

A British Airways spokesman told The National the airline remains committed to its daily flights to Abu Dhabi.

“We have made some minor schedule reductions in May and June to match customer demand and we’re contacting any customers who have already booked on these services to rebook them onto alternative flights or to offer a full refund,” he said.

British Airways’ direct flights from Dubai are not affected during this time.
