Here’s a great excuse to go and check out the latest exhibition…

The Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced a special offer for UAE residents for the rest of September.

Present your Emirates ID when buying a full-priced museum admission ticket to the Saadiyat Island art museum (general admission tickets cost Dhs63), and one guest will receive free entry. So, it’s two-for-one.

The good news is, there’s a brand new exhibition to check out. Japanese Connections: The Birth of Modern Decor opened earlier this month, and showcases 50 paintings, prints and folding screens that explore the artistic and cultural dialogue between Japan and France.

You’ll get to see works from five Japanese Ukiyo-e masters, including Katsushika Hokusai, who is most famous for his painting The Great Wave Off Kanagawa.

The exhibition also showcases works by a group of French artists known as the Nabis, including Édouard Vuillard, Paul Sérusier, Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Denis, and Ker-Xavier Roussel.

Young art fans can spend time in the Manga Lab, which offers a variety of experiences exploring contemporary Japanese culture, including virtual reality, retro arcade gaming, a chill-out reading area and a series of masterclasses and workshops about manga and graphic art.
