Organisers hope to reschedule the gig, which had to be called off at the last minute…

Dua Lipa fans were left disappointed (and soaked) on Sunday night, after severe weather forced the cancellation of her Abu Dhabi concert.

The British singer was set to perform at the Louvre Abu Dhabi as part of the celebrations for the art museum’s one-year anniversary. But with heavy rain and strong winds ripping through Saadiyat Island the venue, organisers had no choice but to call it off.

“We regret to inform you that Dua Lipa at Louvre Abu Dhabi has been postponed due to health and safety precautions arising from dangerous weather conditions,” the museum said on social media. “Keeping people safe remains our primary concern.”

The Louvre Abu Dhabi added that is was hoping to reschedule the concert to a later date and would inform ticket holders once more information was available.

Refunds could be requested by emailing customerservice@ticketmaster.ae.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa shared her own disappointment to social media, posting a video of the rainstorm to Twitter accompanied by broken heart emojis.

“I am so sad to announce that due to bad weather conditions tonight’s show at the Louvre in Abu Dhabi has been cancelled. I really wanted to sing and dance for you… hopefully I will be back very soon,” she wrote.

However, the star still managed to enjoy her time in the capital. Responding to a fan on Twitter who said she hoped Dua Lipa was having a nice day, the singer wrote: “D’you know what, today was actually really special. I got to hang out in Abu Dhabi and see the Louvre here and I had a really fun soundcheck while prepping for the show its just a shame the weather took a turn for the worst.”
