It will be home to some top brands…

Abu Dhabi’s long-awaited Al Maryah Central has released a list of brands that shoppers will find when the mall opens in August next year.

However, two major brands are notably absent from the list. According to The National, luxury department stores Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s have pulled out of the Dhs5 billion project. The Macy’s store would have been the brand’s first outside the US, while the Bloomingdale’s store was going to be even bigger than its Dubai Mall counterpart.

Filling the space left by Macy’s will be a two-storey Debenhams, while Bloomingdale’s will be replaced by a mix of stores.

The list released by developer Gulf Related features 36 popular retail and dining brands from international franchise operator Alshaya Group. These will join other international brands, including a flagship 35,000 square foot Zara, Massimo Dutti, All Saints, and Lululemon. There will also be a 21-screen VOX cinema with IMAX.

In total, the mall will be home to 400 shops and 100 restaurants. Here are the ones that have been confirmed…
