The UAE Tour cycling race will take place over seven consecutive days…

Formerly known as The Dubai Tour, the UAE Tour cycling race returns this week, and will see a number of road closures across the Emirates this week.

The huge race will start tomorrow, Monday February 25 in Abu Dhabi, and make its way across the UAE to finish in Dubai on March 2.

It’s currently the only tour race in the Middle East and will include a line-up of cycling’s top superstars within all 18 of the UCI World Teams.

The first stage of the race, taking place on Sunday February 24, won’t affect any road users. However from Monday February 25, some roads will experience closures throughout the week.

Monday: Abu Dhabi

From Yas Mall, up to Khalifa Port and back to Saadiyat Island and finishing at Abu Dhabi Breakwater. Roads will be affected between 11:25am to 4:25pm.

Tuesday: Al Ain to Jebel Hafeet

From Nahyan The First Street at 11:30am, to Jebel Hafeet Road at about 4:25pm, these roads will experience some diversions.

Wednesday: Palm Jumeirah to Hatta Dam

Palm Jumeirah will experience closures at 11am via Madinat Jumeirah and Al Sufouh Road. Hatta Dam will also be affected at 3:55pm.

Thursday: Sharjah to Khor Fakkan

Roads surrounding Sharjah University will be closed from 11:35am and then at the University of Khalba. The E99 road leading to Khor Fakkan will be also be closed from 3:55pm.

Friday: Ajman to Jebel Jais

The Ajman part of the E11 road will close at 11:20pm then roads in Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khimah will shut throughout the day. Wadi Shah will also be closed from 2.55pm.

Saturday: Dubai Safari Park to City Walk

The streets of Dubai will be affected throughout Saturday, starting at 12:25pm from Dubai Safari, up to Dubai Design District, past Mushrif Park, down to Al Mamzar Beach, then on to Deira and Port Rashid before reaching Jumeirah Road and finishing at City Walk, Al Wasl Road at 3:55pm.
