Thursday, May 23
1. Do some good: Gala screening of Aladdin
A special screening of the Disney remake of the 1992 animated film, Aladdin will take place on Thursday May 23 where the ticket sales proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish Foundation. The money raised by UAE residents will help give magical memories for families with children who are fighting a life-threatening medical condition. Tickets can be purchased here and the movie will be screened at VOX Cinemas in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi. The dress code for the occasion is either Gala or National dress.

2. Check out an exclusive Ramadan exhibition
The Galleria Al Maryah Island is devoting this year’s Holy Month to the Year of Tolerance with a never-before-seen photography exhibition. The mall has teamed up with the National Archive to put on an incredible exhibition that is available for public viewing during The Galleria’s operating hours. The collection you will see spans more than two decades from 1965 to 1990, and highlights the fundamental values of the Year of Tolerance such as the spirit of coexistence among all cultures.

3. Celebrate iftar at Bab Al Qasr
Break your fast at one of the largest Ramadan tents in the city. 5. Is your dog a reading dog? Have him assessed!
Dog owners, have you heard of Reading Dogs? If you haven’t, it’s an organisation that will have kids read to your dog. The process will, in turn, help them the little ones relax, open up, try harder and have fun while reading. The team will only begin visiting schools, nurseries and homes in September, but if you think your pup has what it takes to be a good reading dog, have him tested by the Reading Dogs team at the assessment day on Saturday. 6. Check out a Lourve exhibition
Head to the Louve Abu Dhabi and check out the Animals: Between Real and Imaginary exhibition that explores how animals have been represented creatively throughout art history from all eras and regions. You will see a variety of materials and techniques used by artists to represent not just real but imaginary animals as well. There is also a workshop entitled ‘Animal Footprints’ running until 30 June 2019, which allow children to follow the footprints of the animals included in the exhibition and discover their meaning and the power of their representation in art.
