News of a long weekend is on the cards and while some companies have already announced the extra day off, others are waiting for the moon sighting to confirm Islamic New Year. However, do note that a dry night has already been confirmed on Saturday, August 31 at 6.30pm, for 25 hours.

Thursday, August 29

1. Catch Wash live at Onyx Abu Dhabi 

American singer Wash is performing live at Onyx Abu Dhabi at Novotel Hotel Al Bustan, Abu Dhabi this Thursday. Two renowned DJs will also be joining the famous R&B and hip hop star. It’s complimentary bar for the ladies, and we suggest reserving your seats.

2. Drive to Dubai and catch Westlife

Irish boyband Westlife are set to return to the stage in Dubai this Thursday, making their debut at the Coca-Cola Arena on Thursday, August 29. 3. Check out Adihex

The annual Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (Adihex) is the region’s most popular exhibition of hunting, equestrian activities, falconry and heritage conservation and it’s back for its 17th edition this week. Expect to see workshops, seminars, poetry contests, art exhibitions, inventions, and plenty of activities for the little ones and more. Ticket cost Dhs27 per day, but there is a five day ticket available for just Dhs73.50.

4. Get a gemstone massage at Tips & Toes

Did you know that your hands and feet are the hardest working parts of your body? So, it’s definitely crucial that you show them some TLC every now and then. While a regular manicure and pedicure could work, give yourself that extra healing boost with a crystal healing at Tips & Toes. 6. Get a full chakra healing with Inner Seed

It’s August 31, so before entering a brand new month, why not get some deep inner healing? 7. Get some UFC action with Abu Dhabi Showdown Week

One of the most exciting UFC fights in history is about to take place in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, September 7, when current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champion Dustin Poirier face off for UFC 242 in the brand new purpose-built arena on Yas Island. In the build up, Abu Dhabi Showdown Week is hosting a series of events, mega concerts and parties leading up to the big fight.  8. Check out a Caribbean Circus

Take the family to Dalma Mall in Abu Dhabi this public holiday and catch the indoor Caribbean Circus. There will be highflying trapeze artists, acrobats, daredevil motorcyclists, and much more. There are two shows daily with the first show at 6pm and the second at 9pm, and they last for two hours. Ticket prices start at Dhs75 for bronze, and they go up to Dhs200 if you want to get a closer look at the action. Tickets will be made available on Platinumlist soon and also at the venue. You have until Saturday, September 7, 2019 to check it out.
