Here’s where you can enjoy popular Chinese delicacies this month

Hairy Crab season returns 

All the way from Yangcheng Lake in China, the team at Shangri-La Hotel has flown in crates of hairy crabs to Abu Dhabi and crafted a special menu that will be available at the award-winning Chinese restaurant Shang Palace. Available for both lunch and dinner throughout November, the special menu will include creations such as Steamed Hairy Crab & Lobster Dumpling with Caviar, Steamed Chili Hairy Crab Shell, Crispy Avocado Hairy Crab Wafer and Stew Hairy Crab Ball in double boiled soup.

Flying in all the way from the Michelin-starred Shang Palace at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong to Abu Dhabi is Chef Liu Wai-Yeung who will take over the capital’s Shang Palace for a three-night pop-up event,  elevating  the restaurant’s Cantonese cuisine with an exclusive set menu from 21 to 23 November 2019. Renowned for its Cantonese cuisine, Shang Palace at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong delivers traditional and creative dishes that evoke the grandeur of traditional China.  The Hong Kong restaurant currently holds one Michelin star and was awarded as a Michelin two-starred restaurant in the editions of the Michelin Guide for Hong Kong and Macau from 2012 to 2018.

Joining hands with the Chinese chefs at Shang Palace in Abu Dhabi, the team has prepared an exclusive dinner  set menu to celebrate Cantonese cuisine with the guests of the award-winning Chinese restaurant.  The eight-course dinner set menu includes Cantonese favourites, such as Deep-Fried Stuffed Crab Shell, Wok-Fried Cod Fillet with Red Bean Curd Sauce and Sautéed Wagyu Beef diced with Asparagus and Mushroom.

Available from Thursday to Saturday, November 21 to 23 from 7pm for Dhs258. The restaurant will also offer a celebratory lunch menu, for Dhs158, available from noon to 3pm.

New All-You-Can-Eat Dim Sum Menu

Shang Palace has just elevated its delicious all-you-can-eat dim sum lunch menu for  foodies to enjoy with new dishes including chives cuttlefish and crab dumplings, crystal scallops, and if you dare, Cantonese-style steamed chicken feet.

Available daily from noon to 3pm, Dhs115 per person (food only); Dhs145 per person including access to the dessert buffet.
