Technology editor for The Guardian newspaper, author of Digital Wars: Apple, Google, Microsoft And The Battle For The Internet.

Give us a book jacket summary of what you write. I write about the trends in technology that affect our daily lives.

What is the sentence you would like to be remembered by? “Reading what he wrote made me understand technology’s effect on us better.”

What’s the most inspiring book you’ve read? Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. It’s an extended poem, really, about a fictional Welsh village – nothing to do with technology. But reading it at school aged 10 made me realise you could create images in people’s heads. It was a revelation.

What advice would you give to aspiring writers? Keep writing. Be aware that you can do wonderful things just by changing the order of words in a sentence, or using different words.
