What’s On teams up with Gulf Photo Plus to give photographers a chance to hone their skills with a spot on a photography workshop in Dubai.
Budding photographers are being given the chance to hone their skills with a digital photography workshop, courtesy of Gulf Photo Plus 2015.
GPP2015 runs from March 6 to 13 and is the region’s biggest photography festival bringing the world’s best photographers and instructors to Dubai to share their knowledge and experience with the Middle East and Africa’s professional and amateur photography community.
The lucky winners can choose between the level one or level two standard course, depending on their own skills and experience.
The eight-hour sessions are split over a weekend and held at Al Serkal Avenue, Al Quoz. You don’t even need to bring a camera, with a limited number of Nikon D5300 DSLRs available to loan free of charge during the workshop.
So which level are you?
This course is an introductory one and assumes little or no prior knowledge of your camera or photo composition. The aim of the course is to get beginner photographers comfortable with the camera and its most useful functions, arm them with essential photographic terminology and give them the basic tips and tricks for creating more compelling photos. You should already have a thorough understanding of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and how all of these relate to each other to achieve a creatively correct exposure. If you are not familiar with these terms or currently shoot in Auto or P mode, you should consider attending the Level 1 course first.
