Dubai has achieved yet another regional first! Granted, it’s not as impressive as some of its other achievements, but it’s still pretty cool…

Riverland Dubai, the dining and retail destination at Dubai Parks and Resorts has become the, wait for it, region’s first man-made river within a theme park.

Well, it’s not entirely full yet, but the one-kilometre river’s water is slowly rising.

When it opens on October 31, guests will be able to take boat rides, or enjoy a meal on the river’s banks in one of four themed zones: The French Village, Boardwalk, India Gate and The Peninsula.

All it needs is some bloke doing caricatures and it’ll feel like a real French holiday town.

Riverland will serve as the connection between the three theme parks and Legoland’s water park, and will be open to everyone with or without a ticket.

Inside, you’ll find more than 50 restaurants and retail outlets, coupled with street theatre performances and more.
