Hold onto your socks…

If you’re looking for a laugh in the New Year (and aren’t we all after 2016?), we have good news, British funny man Russell Howard is set to make his Dubai debut next April.

The smiley stand-up will be doing three nights at the Dubai College Auditorium as part of his mammoth global tour Round The World (self explanatory) on April 20 to 22.

Yes, he will be playing in a school auditorium, but it’s a very swanky one that basically looks like a profesh’ theatre.

The West Country comedian is best known for his wry look at politics and British life on his show Russell Howard’s Good News. He’s been a regular guest and panelist on a number of other comedy gems too, including Mock the Week (presented by Dara O’ Briain, who performed in Dubai last year), Would I Lie To You, Live at the Apollo and Eight out of 10 Cats. He’s also known for mining material from his own life, especially his relationship with his mum.

Prior to this tour, the comedian took a three-year hiatus from the live stage but he’s coming back strong, with a world tour that’ll take him all around the UK, Europe, the US, New Zealand and Australia and, of course, Dubai.

Tickets are available now from knockknock.ae. They range from Dhs295 for silver seating to Dhs595 for VIP seating.

The gig comes from Dubai’s new comedy promoter “Knock Knock, It’s…”, which comes from 117Live, the same brand that brought us Nicki Minaj and are bringing Elton John, Guns and Roses and Justin Bieber to the UAE in the New Year.
