IMG Worlds of Adventure is getting a pal in the form of IMG Worlds of Legends…

You know IMG Worlds of Adventure? The huge indoor theme park on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Well, the whole thing is about to get even bigger as a new theme park is opening right next to it.

The new park will be called IMG Worlds of Legends and visiting it will be an outdoor experience for much of the year, but it will have a retractable roof that means it can be open 365 days a year (without visitors getting too hot).

IMG Worlds of Legends will connect to the already-open Worlds of Adventure via a sky bridge – and guests will be able to buy tickets to each park separately, or choose a multi-park pass.

SO WHAT RIDES WILL THERE BE?

Well according to IMG there will be “futuristic interactive rollercoasters, state-of-the-art rides, breath-taking water-based attractions, and spectacular live entertainment”.

The park will be spread over two million square feet (while the whole IMG complex is six million square feet), and it will be split into different zones, including: Ubisoft, Mattel, Nickelodeon, Saban Brands, Pokémon, Cartoon Network, Toei Animation and TV TOKYO.

These are the brands and ideas that we know some of the rides will be based around…

– Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

– Dora the Explorer

– SpongeBob SquarePants

  Assassin’s Creed

– Raving Rabbids

 Just Dance

– Saban’s Power Rangers

– Pokémon

 Barbie

– Hot Wheels

 Bob the Builder

– Thomas & Friends

 Mega Bloks

– Toei Animation: Dragon Ball Z and One Piece

– TV TOKYO: Naruto

– We Bare Bears

Here’s a closer look at the renderings of the park (there looks to be a volcano – cool, a cityscape and a Japanese flower garden):

The park will also mean another 104,000 square feet of food and beverage outlets and 102,000 square feet of shopping.

Here’s a reminder of what it’s like inside IMG Worlds of Adventure:

We’ll keep you posted when we find out more about the park…
