Introducing a fresh concept from an old favourite, here’s 1762 Stripped…

If someone told you that you could have one of the most pleasant dining experiences in the city somewhere along JLT’s winding one-way system, would you believe them? Until 1762 Stripped threw open its gigantic sliding doors, the answer was probably no.

The warehouse meets farmhouse aesthetic is a full-on success here, with a range of made-to-order breakfast options (huevos rancheros, eggs benedict, brulee brioche) and coffees, all served by probably the most polite staff in all of Dubai.

There are two floors of restaurant space, just in case things get busy – which they invariably do. There’s a bakery, and a cooking class lab where the team hosts intimate casual cooking classes. Our favourite bit? The beautiful pet-friendly outdoor space in the shadow of Monty – 1762’s gorgeous green double decker bus.

We could happily sit for hours grazing on 1762’s signature dishes. Our perennial must-try; the roast beef wrap, encased in a Yorkshire pudding (Dhs38), continues to reign as one of the greatest sandwiches in the city. The slivers of beef work wonders with the buttery pudding texture.

Don’t be shy to check out 1762’s new options, though. Stripped has a proper kitchen onsite after all. The huevos rancheros (Dhs48) is surprisingly good. The corn tortilla is crisp around the edges, the poached eggs are runny, while the Mexican black bean salsa has a pretty aggressive kick for a laidback café.
