The diva has landed…

This Thursday at about 10.30pm Mariah Carey will perform in Dubai as part of the Jazz Fest at the Media City Ampitheatre (let’s hope for better weather by then. That said, we can picture singing along to one of her ballads in the rain).

She joins Tom Jones and Enrique Iglesias as the fest’s headliners, and guess what fans? She’s already in Dubai. This afternoon, at about 4.30pm, she pulled up in a red and silver Bentley to take snaps by the Burj Khalifa (proving that even A-listers want to get a Burj snap).

And here’s @MariahCarey leaving the photo opp at the Burj Khalifa… will you go see her at #jazzfest?

She only hung around for about five minutes, bringing a large entourage along with her, but she did pose for a selfie with one lucky Dubai fan who shouted “please Mariah, it’s my birthday!”.

And here’s a snap taken by her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, which shows that the pair are likely staying somewhere near the Al Sufouh area:

The #PalmIslands are riiiight over there. #Dubai

Dubai Airports tweeted out a picture of the diva arriving at DXB last night:

How did she get here? On first class, of course.

Mariah Carey’s manager Stella Bulochnikov shared this snap of Mariah on the flight:

#doubletrouble #dubai here we come ✈️??? @mariahcarey #mimi ????

Here’s a behind-the-scenes moment of Mariah’s airport photo opp:

Oh, and late last night she had a dress fitting with Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco – so we can expect to see his designs in the spotlight again soon…

Don’t worry, we’ll keep you in the loop about what the star, who has has 18 number one singles (more than any other artist in history), gets up to while in Dubai, as she’s got more than 48 hours to explore before her performance.

MORE ON MIMI

Not only does Mariah Carey possess a superstar vocal range, she’s also a songwriter, having penned many of her hits, including Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together and One Sweet Day. Here’s the latter – it’s karaoke gold:

Carey has won 21 AMAs, 14 Billboard Music Awards and five Grammy Awards and is well known for her use of the hard-to-pull-off whistle register, aka the highest register that the human voice can achieve.

While her hits range from the ’90s to today, most recently Carey has been putting on a residency show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Want to know what she’s sounding like live these days? Here she is at her recent Vegas residency:

She also just put out a special album featuring all 18 of her Billboard Hot 100 number one singles #1 to Infinity – the album included a new tune, Infinity:

She’s just announced a world tour too, running from March 2016, and spanning 27 dates, with shows ranging from Mexico to South Africa (so yes, those of us in Dubai will be seeing her live before the rest of the globe!).

Oh, and those of you who are fans of the E! channel will know that she’s got a new show coming out on the Kardashian-heavy channel called Mariah’s World (we’re expecting great things).

Tickets to Mariah are are Dhs395, Golden Circle Dhs795, Fan Pit Dhs995 and VIP Deck Dhs1,595. You can buy your tickets here.

In the meantime we’ll leave you with this piece of retro goodness:
