Cityland Mall will be the shopping destination for flower-loving fashionistas.

The world’s first nature-inspired shopping mall appears to be in full bloom.

Cityland Group, the developers behind Dubai Miracle Garden and Dubai Butterfly Garden, are currently working on Cityland Mall – a Dhs1.2 billion development that will be packed with botanical wonders.

Here is a taste of what we can expect:

The company recently announced that it has hit a major milestone, raising Dhs524 million from a consortium banks to help finance the project. With construction work already “well under way”, it sounds like the mall is right on track to open its doors to the public next year.

The shopping mall will be located beside Global Village, and will be home to more than 350 stores – so yes, it’s going to be a biggie.

But the main attraction will be the sprawling, 200,000 square-foot open-air garden at the heart of the mall, dubbed Central Park.

This green space will be the perfect place for shoppers to take a break, with a mini water park, an ancient tree garden, a Japanese garden, a 360-degree rooftop garden, and plenty of shaded seating areas so you can sit back and enjoy the view. There will be cafes and restaurants overlooking the garden, too.

Best of all, access to the park will be totally free.

The mall itself will be centred around six pavilions, each based on a different part of the world (sort of like Ibn Battuta Mall, by the sounds of it).

It looks like we’ll soon be whiling away the summer days in yet another Dubai shopping mall… but at least with this one, we have the excuse that we’re spending time in nature.
