Sunday December 17

1. Get some free legal advice

This Sunday, law firm BSA will be hosting a free legal clinic at the Dubai Land Department, giving free legal advice to the public from 8am to 2pm. 25 of the firm’s lawyers will give 150 hours of their time to the initiative, which will be hosted at Dubai Land Department on Baniyas Road. It’s a walk-in clinic and appointments are not necessary.

Monday December 18

2. Get your hands on some free pizza

To celebrate the launch of their second store opening, Z Pizza are giving away free pizzas this Monday. Their newly-launched location in Bay Square is offering free small Margarita, Mexican, and their best selling ZBQ pizzas to the first 200 people who walk in.

3. Enjoy an iconic movie al fresco

Outdoor Cinema Dubai is in the grounds of the Habtoor Grand Hotel this week. On Monday, you can catch 40s festive classic It’s a Wonderful Life, the comedy drama classed as one of the all-time greatest American films.

Tuesday December 19

4. Enjoy a free festive market

The Fort Island festive market is back in full swing and well worth a visit. The 1,750-square-metre winter wonderland features a German-style festive market, as well as rides on an abra boat with Santa, dozens of slides and games, a North Pole train for the little ones and a giant snowball zone. New this year, there’s a shimmering interactive LED Christmas tree and daily appearances from Santa himself at 5pm and 7pm.

5. Make music in Dubai Marina

The 2017 theme of the Dubai Marina Music Festival (DMMF) is ‘The Art of Sound’. It’s going to transform the Dubai Marina promenade into a series of activations and installations that explore all the senses, plus host music artists and performers, food stalls and a pop-up market.

Wednesday December 20

6. Head to a Q&A with a rugby legend

Retired professional rugby union player Doug Howlett is the seventh-highest try scorer in rugby union history and first on the all-time highest try scorers for the All Blacks. He’s in town to take part in a Q&A about the game of rugby and his career on Wednesday December 20 in The Baggot at McGettigan’s JLT. Tickets cost Dhs150 and doors open at 6pm with the event starting at 7pm.

7. Enjoy a bottomless ladies’ night in City Walk

Recently opened Spanish spot Toro & Ko in City Walk has just launched a new ladies’ night, Miss Ko, every Wednesday. There’s free-flowing sparkling wine for ladies from 8pm to 12am, plus 25 per cent discount on selected drinks for guys too.

8. Get your seafood fix at Jean-Georges
