Sports-bar-meets-Gentleman’s-Club The 44 houses the tallest bowling alley in the world…

Last year we learned that three exciting new concepts were coming to the 44th floor of The Westin in Al Habtoor City.

The first, a super club by the name of Dome, opened in November, with Babiole, a contemporary Mediterranean spot with one of the best truffle pizzas in Downtown on the menu, following in December. And now the final spot, The 44, a sports bar inspired by retro Gentleman’s Clubs has just opened.

But just another sports bar this is not. The 44 is home to a double lane bowling alley, and at 44 floors high, it’s the tallest one in the world. It just comes with a minimum spent of Dhs300 per group on food and drink up until 7.30pm, and Dhs600 from 7.30pm until 2am Saturday to Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, expect to pay Dhs80 per person per game.

The retro sports bar is kitted out like an American diner meets Gentleman’s Club from the 60’s; think monochrome checkered tiles, cushy green sofas and vibrant red leather bar stools. But making it more contemporary, it’s also got an outdoor terrace with a second fully licensed bar, pool tables and even a pin ball machine.

And although it may look like a Gentleman’s Club, The 44 has plenty to keep the girls entertained too. There’s a weekly Tuesday ladies’ night, offering three drinks from a selection from 7pm until 11pm. There’s also a live band to keep you toe-tapping into the early hours.
