Live music, rock legends and two brand new ladies’ nights…

Another week has begun, and we’ve found plenty of ways for you to make the most of it. Kicking off with a brand new outdoor cinema that’s all about Bollywood films, there’s two new ladies’ nights, a live performance from a top British rock band and a night of bingo that’s served up alongside unlimited wings.

1. See a Bollywood film al fresco

Every Sunday throughout April, you can enjoy well-loved Bollywood favourites at Dubai’s first ever outdoor Bollywood cinema. Relax on comfy bean bags and scoff down delicious masala popcorn on the rooftop of Wafi Mall. The Bollywood cinema kicks off this week with Zingadi Na Milegi.

Monday April 16

2. Buy one drink and get the rest free with a new ladies’ night

The newly opened Aloft Me’aisam hotel near Sports City has launched a ladies’ night every Monday in its WXYZ bar. Ladies simply have to buy their first drink at full price, and the rest of the drinks they order that night are all on the house.

3. Have a laugh at a new comedy night

Girders in the JA Ocean View Hotel will be hosting ‘Giggles at Girders’, a new comedy night, every alternate Monday. Happy hour will kick in at 4pm, with comedians taking to the stage from 7.30pm.

Tuesday April 17

4. Listen to some local live acts

For an al fresco bar with a view, they don’t come much better than Iris. On Tuesdays, they host their live music night, with an artist line-up that changes on a weekly basis. Local talents rotating include Khalil Barazi, Gari Deegan, Adam Baluch, Bruno Fave, Jaymie DeVille, Laura Ingham, Jay Abo, and Stephon LaMar.

5. Party hard with a great-value new ladies’ night

It’s one of the Marina’s liveliest day-to night-venues, and Zero Gravity has just updated its Tuesday ladies’ night to benefit both the girls and boys. Called ‘Beat the Clock’, it comes with a retro soundtrack of hits from the 80s through to the 00s, and an incentive to arrive as soon as possible. The first 50 guys and girls will all receive a welcome drink, with all ladies arriving before 9pm receiving six free drinks. Getting there before 10pm gets you five free drinks, before 11pm is four free drinks, and there’s three on offer for all the girls arriving before midnight.

Wednesday April 18

6. See a rock band make their Dubai debut

Iconic Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro are set to perform in Dubai for the first time ever this week, putting on an intimate performance at the Hard Rock Cafe on Wednesday April 18.  The three-piece band, made up of  Simon Neil (guitar, lead vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums, vocals) have released seven studio albums to date and have sold more than 1.2 million albums worldwide.

7. Find your zen with a singing bowl session

Each Wednesday, you can head down to a Tibetan Singing Bowl Medication experience at the Life N One in Jumeirah. The one hour class costs Dhs99, and the sound of the Tibetan singing bowls are c used as meditation aid as the sound induces a sense of peacefulness. Each bowl emits a soothing vibration that radiates out negative energy, which restricts your ability to reach your full physical, spiritual and mental health.

8. Fill up with a fun bingo night

There’s a new games night in town at McGettigan’s JLT. Bingo Wings is a night of musical bingo, chicken wings and drinks. It costs Dhs100 per person, which includes two house drinks, unlimited McGettigan’s signature chicken wings and two games of bingo. Doors open from 7.30pm with the first bingo game happening at 8pm.
