The ultra-swanky hotel will feature 188 rooms as well as 215 branded residences

Remember last year when we told you about Uptown Dubai – the ambitious new commercial and residential district being built a stone’s throw from JLT? There’s finally some new info on what we can expect from the 10 million square foot project purported to house 200+ retail outlets and 3,000 residences.

It was announced on Wednesday by developer Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) that AccorHotels’ luxury brand So/ will be opening in one of the two super-tall towers that Uptown Dubai will be centered around.

The ultra-swanky hotel will feature 188 rooms as well as 215 branded residences, and will be located in the first of the two towers being built. The interiors, which are being handled by the Rockwell Group, are said to be inspired by “edgy and bold architecture” and feature modular elements, which we hope means you’ll be able to swap out your bathroom with an even bigger one if the mood strikes you.

F&B facilities will include several bars as well as an all-day dining restaurant and a sky bar & lounge. The hotel will also have a fitness centre and a health club with a swimming pool.

Expected to open in 2020, this will mark the brand’s seventh property alongside similar outlets in Thailand, Singapore, Mauritius, Berlin and St. Petersburg.

There are no images or renders yet of what we can expect in terms of design, but if it ends up looking anything like the So/ in Berlin pictured below, then colour us excited:
