Father’s Day, new ladies’ nights, dinner deals and World Cup fever…

Whether it’s a four day week or not for you, we’ve got plenty of activities happening across Dubai. Kicking off with Father’s Day celebrations, there’s World Cup action, dinner deals, new ladies’ nights, pool days, and piano stars at Dubai Opera.

Here’s eight things to do in Dubai this week.

Sunday June 17

1. Celebrate Father’s Day at Reform

To celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday June 17, Reform in The Lakes will be giving away a free beer to the first 50 dads through the door. An all day breakfast will be on offer for Dhs75, and an all-day roast with all the trimmings from Dhs100.

Reform, The Lakes, daily 8am to late. Tel: (04) 454 2638. More info on website

2. Feast on unlimited sushi

To celebrate International Sushi Day (yes, apparently that’s a thing), Zengo will be hosting an interactive sushi table courtesy of Chef Liu on Sunday. You’ll get a front-row seat to watch your dinner being created by the chef, and get to choose your own fillings from the likes of teriyaki chicken, blue swimmer crab and Kampyo alongside a novelty beverage menu.

Zengo, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, Sunday June 17, 7pm to 11pm, Dhs60 vegetarian, Dhs80 non-vegetarian. Tel: (04) 316 5550. More info on website

Monday June 18

3. Tuck in to gold dusted churros

Only in Dubai can you find gold dusted black churros. In fact, we reckon you can probably only get them at neighbourhood eatery, Tom&Serg. As well as a bunch of Eid weekend specials (which include aforementioned churros), there will be entertainment and activities to keep the little ones busy

Tom & Serg, Al Qouz, Near ACE Hardware, daily 8am to 6pm. Tel: (056) 474 6812. More info on website

4. Catch the football action from an indoor garden

The first England match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup is this Monday, and where better to watch it than at an English beer garden? The Scene has transformed into an indoor garden just in time for the World Cup and is offering drinks deals for the girls and guys – whether you’re watching the match or not. There’s five drinks for Dhs175 and three bar bites for Dhs99.

The Scene by Simon Rimmer, Pier 7, Dubai Marina, daily 8am to 2am. Tel: (04) 4222 328. More info on website

Tuesday June 19

5. Soak up the sun with a pool day

The summer temperatures mean if you’re outside, you’re probably wanting to be poolside. And if it’s a midweek pool day you’re looking for, Azure Beach has slashed its entrance fee Sunday to Thursday, reduced to Dhs100 from Dhs300. It’s a standard entry fee with no additional food and drink voucher.

Rixos Premium, JBR, Sunday to Thursday, Dhs100. Tel: (052) 777 9472. More info on website

6. Party at a brand new ladies’ night

Teaming up with neighbouring STK, Rixos Premium Nightclub Inner City Zoo has launched ‘Let Loose’ ladies’ night every Tuesday. The after-party for the STK JBR ladies’ night (which offers a set menu and three free drinks for Dhs199), ladies will be able to take advantage of an additional three free drinks from 11pm to 2am at the swanky nightclub.

7. See two piano stars at Dubai Opera

Dubai Opera is set to host Croatian stars Bruno Vlahek and Dubravka Vukalovic on Wednesday June 20 as their season of live entertainment kickstarts again. The European duo are known for playing one piano at the same time.

8. Enjoy a dinner deal for two at a sleek steakhouse

JBR steakhouse and US export STK is already popular for its Tuesday ladies’ night and sellout Friday brunch, but the venue has now added a daily offering to please the party crowd. Available each evening from 6pm to 1am and priced at Dhs499 for two, guests can enjoy a 1kg rib-eye steak with prawns, served with a side of parmesan truffle chips and broccolini accompanied by a bottle of house wine.
