Anyone fancy a cheeky mediterranean getaway?

Dubai-based low-cost airline Flydubai has announced that it now offers direct flights between Dubai International and Catania Airport in Sicily, Italy.

The service officially launched on June 13, and is operating out of Terminal 2 at DXB on a daily schedule.

Catania is the second largest city on the Island of Sicily and is known for its rich culture, arts and history, as well as being in close proximity to Mount Etna, a still-active volcano. The new route offers travellers low-cost access to the south of Italy while also linking Sicily to Dubai’s extensive international air network.

The direct flights to and from Catania will be codeshare with Emirates and start at Dhs1,895 (including 7kg of hand baggage) for economy class and Dhs9,745 (including 40kg of checked baggage) for business class.

A cheeky trip to the mediterranean for under two grand? Don’t mind if we do…
