We can imagine how beautiful this is going to be…

Fujairah is already known as the top spot for keen snorkelers and divers in the UAE, but the Emirate could soon put the UAE on the map among the world’s top snorkeling spots, as it’s set to become home to the world’s largest coral garden.

The coral garden, which is set to break a Guinness World Record upon completion according to Gulf News, will provide Fujairah with a major tourism boost. It will also see the East Coast Emirate become a haven for rehabilitation ecosystems in the UAE, as well as providing a sanctuary for tonnes of marine life.

No timeline for creating the coral garden has yet been given, but an agreement has been made by The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Fujairah Centre for Adventures to facilitate the project.

“Such agreements are important to help preserve the pristine natural beauty of the region, and its precious marine environment. The project is the largest in the world and will help boost local and international interest in the coral reef and the marine environment,” said Saeed Al Muamari, director of the Fujairah Centre for Adventures.

As well as drawing UAE diving and snorkeling fans to the Emirate, we can imagine many international marine fans will be adding Fujairah to their must-dive bucket list.

We can’t wait to see this take shape.
