Emirates imposes new restrictions on carrying powdered goods on some flights

Emirates airlines has placed new restrictions on certain goods that can be carried on flights to specific destinations.

Effective June 30, passengers travelling from or through Australia and New Zealand, as well as those travelling to, through or from the US will be required to hand over any “powder-like substance” over 350ml for additional security screening.

The new rule applies strictly to carry-on baggage, and the airline has advised its customers to place any powdered substance over this amount in their checked bags.

The new security measures are in line with new guidelines issued by the US Transport Security Administration, the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs and the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand.
