Asia’s biggest football tournament will be hosted by the UAE next year…

With the 2018 FIFA World Cup now truly done and dusted, football fans in Dubai will be looking towards the next tournament to get hyped about.

Luckily, their fix doesn’t require waiting another four years and is situated a lot closer to home as the UAE plays host to AFC Asian Cup in January 2019.

The month-long tournament is expected to be the biggest sporting event ever hosted in the UAE and will feature Asia’s top 24 footballing nations, including Japan, Australia, India, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and, of course, the UAE.

Running from January 5 to February 1 2019, you’ll be able to catch the action at eight newly-refurbished stadiums across four host cities: Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai and Sharjah.

Football news website, FourFourTwo Arabia, reports that tickets go on sale from Monday, 30 July, and they’re not unreasonably priced, either. You can catch group stage matches from as little as Dhs25 per game, while the final will set you back between Dhs75 and Dhs300 a ticket depending on how much you want to splurge. You’ll be able to buy them directly via the AFC website.

The UAE is the perfect melting pot of cultures and nationalities to host such a diverse sporting tournament and we can’t wait for next year to get stuck in supporting the home team.
