England fans reminded to respect the UAE’s laws and customs when watching tonight’s game against Croatia…

The UK embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued a warning to its citizens living in the UAE to respect the laws of the country ahead of tonight’s 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-final match between England and Croatia.

In a statement posted to the UK in UAE Facebook page, British citizens were advised that “wherever you’re enjoying the football, ensure that you are aware of and respecting the local laws and customs”, followed by a link to a UK Foreign Office website outlining the UAE’s laws and customs.

The warning comes on the heels of a recent incident reported on in the local press that occured during last week’s England v Colombia game in which one over enthusiastic England supporter allegedly took his celebrations a little too far.

England faces Croatia tonight for a spot in Sunday’s World Cup final against France. Kick-off is at 10pm Dubai time. If you’re looking for a place to watch the game, we have a rather extensive list of venues that you can check out.
