From free concerts to fireworks, everyone can get involved in the celebrations.

Sunday September 23 is Saudi National Day, and in honour of the occasion, Dubai is set to host some epic events all over the city.

Whether you’re travelling from Saudi for the holiday, or simply want to help our neighbours celebrate their special day, here’s what’s happening in Dubai for Saudi National Day.

Burj Khalifa/The Dubai Fountain

As per tradition, the world’s tallest building is set to light up with the Saudi national flag on September 23. The Dubai Fountain will also come to life with specially choreographed displays to songs by Saudi artists from now until September 22, and on the big day itself, it will perform a tribute to the Saudi national anthem. These shows will be held at 8.10pm, 9.10pm and 10.10pm in addition to the regular displays.

La Mer

Beachfront destination La Mer is putting on a huge fireworks display at 8.30pm on September 23. From Thursday September 20 until Sunday, you’ll also be able to catch performances by traditional Saudi dancers at 7pm and 8.40pm each night, and if you’re a supercar fan, you can head down between 7pm and 9pm on Saturday September 22 for a live supercar gallery at La Mer’s Show Street, where some of Dubai’s most luxury rides will be on display.

The Beach at JBR

The Beach is hosting a grand parade at 6pm on Saturday September 22 which will feature horses marching along to Saudi national melodies. From September 20 to 23, there will also be free screenings of award-winning short films by Saudi directors at Roxy Cinemas. See the schedule here.

City Walk

Saudi singer Dalia Mubarak and Emirati star Shamma Hamdan will perform a free concert at City Walk on Saturday September 22, with the event kicking off at 8.30pm. Both women have appeared on Arabs Got Talent.

Boxpark

You can check out traditional Emirati Al Ayala dance performances at Boxpark at 6pm from Friday September 21 to September 23. Often referred to as the stick dance, Al Ayala is performed during various national celebrations and festivals across the UAE.

Plus one in Abu Dhabi…

Yas Island

Yas Marina will light up with a special fireworks show on September 23 at 8pm. There will be free parking available.
