It’s the first UAE airline to offer flights to the city…

Planning a Christmas getaway but can’t decide where? How about the Finish capital of Helsinki, which has just become the latest destination on Flydubai airlines?

The inaugural flight departed from Dubai International’s Terminal 2 on October 23, and takes around six-and-a-half hours each way.

The low cost airline will fly from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Helsinki Airport (HEL) daily, although the service will operate four times a week during low season between May and September due to seasonal demand, according to Gulf Business. It’s the first UAE airline to offer a direct flight to the city.

Finland is a popular winter destination, and one of the best places on Earth to see the Northern Lights.

It’s also famous for its sauna culture. Helsinki is even home to the world’s first Burger King spa, where you can indulge in a burger before sweating it out at the in-store sauna.

It’s the latest destination to be added as a direct flight option from Dubai, following on from the launch of a daily Emirates flight to the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, and Santiago in Chile.
