And plenty of changes have happened inside…

Jumeirah Beach Hotel is among some of Dubai’s most iconic buildings. The wave-shaped icon first opened in 1997, but closed for refurbishment ahead of its 21st birthday in May of this year.

Now the beachfront hotel is set to open its doors again this weekend on Friday October 19, after a five-month transformation.

So what’s changed?

Well, the space has had a more contemporary makeover, with a white, gold and blue theme now running throughout. Each of the 599 rooms and suites across 11 categories have all been upgraded, inspired by the calmness and serenity of the Arabian Gulf.

Returning guests will be pleased to hear that of the ten restaurants and bars, some of the best-loved favourites are returning. Gastropub Dhow & Anchor, Latin American restaurant La Parilla and rooftop spot Uptown Bar, are all back in business this weekend.

While on the beachfront, Villa Beach, Beachcombers and Ocean Blue, have been transformed into a trio of idyllic beachfront drinking and dining options, perfect for our new sundowners spot, we reckon.

Previously called Latitude the all day dining destination has become Kitchen Connection. Inside, you’ll find nine interactive cooking stations for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the return of their famed Friday Brunch.

The Palm Court space has become Pearl Lounge, where guests will be able to enjoy afternoon tea and gourmet light bites served up to Burj Al Arab and Arabian Gulf views.

The family-friendly focus of the hotel is still a key focal point. The main family leisure pool will continue to take centre stage with an expanded swim-up bar and fresh new look. A new Kids Club has replaced the old one, this time inspired by the underwater world, and all guests continue to have unlimited access to Wild Wadi Waterpark.

We can’t wait to check in…
