Sponsored: Giant cargo nets, barbed wire, and lots and lots of mud… are you ready for it?

World-renowned obstacle course du Tough Mudder is set to make its muddy return to Dubai this December. And if you’re umming and ahhing over whether or not you should take part, well, this is our advice: MUD UP OR SHUT UP.

Taking place at Hamdan Sports Complex from December 7 to 8, this year’s event is going to include more mud, more water, more heights and more obstacles than ever before. You can expect all the best challenges from the 2016 and 2017 editions, plus a whole host of exciting new obstacles along the 10km course.

New to du Tough Mudder? Here’s a taste of what’s in store…

Now, here are just a few of the 28 epic obstacles you can look forward to conquering this year…

SHAWSHANKED: Starting with a barbed wire low crawl, this obstacle sees Mudders shimmy through a culvert pipe and find themselves perched at the end of a five-foot drop into a pool of water below.

GIANT A-HOLE: Over two storeys high, this is sure to be one of the most impressive obstacles in the course. It’s a giant A-shaped cargo net, that you and your teammates will have to scramble up and over.

DEVIL’S BEARD: This obstacle will have you crawling on the ground, pinned down by a giant cargo net. Working your way through this one will require lots of communication, teamwork and a strong will.

WALK THE PLANK: This will involve climbing up platforms that hang over a deep water pit. Once you’ve reached the top, you have to drop into the water below, and swim to the exit.

BIRTH CANAL BLACKOUT: Pushing your way through the suspended water barriers might sound easy enough – but this obstacle adds in the element of total blackout.

What are you waiting for? Better get training – and the good news is, du tough Mudder has teamed up with The Warehouse Gym, which is hosting a series of Friday training sessions from now until the event. The weekly sessions are open to all du Tough Mudder ticket holders, and can be booked by calling The Warehouse Gym on (04) 424 9396. Click here for the full session training schedule.

Have little ones who want to get involved? The du Mini Mudder challenge will run alongside du Tough Mudder, with a fun and engaging 1.5km mud run for children aged 7 to 13. Mini Mudders can get stuck into 10 obstacles along the brand new course – many of which are miniature versions of what the adults will be up against – and of course, there will be lots and lots of mud.

Tickets start from Dhs360 for the du Tough Mudder course and Dhs55 for du Mini Mudder. For more information or to sign up, visit the Tough Mudder website.
