With the weather finally cooling down, it’s the perfect time to venture outdoors and indulge one’s cultural side. And there’s no better place to do it then at the upcoming ‘A Cultural Flair’ festival set over back-to-back weekends at the Golden Mile Galleria on The Palm Jumeirah.
Held on the terraces of the popular Palm-side strip, adjacent to Al Ittihad Park, visitors can expect to be wowed as the festival brings together an eclectic group of artists, musicians, painters, sculptors and dancers for four days of fun-filled festivities.

The event promises to engage with the community and celebrate creativity through two central events: the Africa Cultural Pavilion and Art Nights, taking place from 30 November to 1 December and again from 7 to 8 December.

Africa Cultural Pavilion
Artist: Natalie Daghestani
When: 10am to 6pm
Where: Building 7 to 10, Golden Mile Galleria
Bask in the rich cultural heritage of West and East Africa, with live musical performances showcasing everything from afrobeat and jazz to r&b and hip-hop. You’ll also be able to participate in traditional soco and kupe dance sessions, if you feel like getting your boogie on.
A fashion bazaar and handicrafts market will be exhibiting African fabrics, accessories and home decor items, while some of the UAE’s top African designers will be have their creations strutted across a purpose-built catwalk.
The Africa Cultural Pavilion will be the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors alike to learn more about the continent through panel discussions, a learning space offering a collection of African books and an exhibition of artwork, photography and installations from a range of African artists.
Those looking to take home a memento can purchase a limited edition jacket with all proceeds going to a safe home for under-privileged girls in Kenya.
Art Nights

Where: Building 7 to 10, Golden Mile Galleria
If you’re a lover of the arts then you won’t want to miss the long list of award-winning and up-and-coming artists on show at Art Nights.
You’ll be able to take part in helping bring to life a giant sculpture which will be the community artwork centrepiece of the dual-weekend event, while muralists, graffiti artists and spray painters create colourful installations dotted about the terraces of the Golden Mile Galleria.
Some of the artists you can look forward to interacting with include:
Kristel Bechara – an award-winning painter known for expressive colour and her unique dynamic patterned style.
Nori El Hami – a calligraphy artist who has studied traditional Middle East art, Islamic geometric art and Orientalism
Charlie Villagarcia – and award-winning contemporary artist from the Philipines
Silva Sidorov – a Romanian artists specialising in animal portraits
Linda Lipace – An established photographer and stylist with roots in Valencia, Spain
Bonny Matthews – a self-taught, award-winning painter whose works have been displayed in galleries in Vietnam and Italy
And there’ll be plenty of other artists on hand to inspire you to pick up a paintbrush and become the next Picasso.
All this art and culture is against the backdrop of the lifestyle, retail and dining destination that is the Golden Mile Galleria.
