The golden ticket will grant entry to all sessions at the Emirates Festival of Literature, exclusive festival experiences and many other prizes…

The 2019 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature has just sweetened things up a little bit, with an announcement of five golden tickets that are up for grabs worth a total of Dhs20,000.

Taking inspiration from Willy Wonka in Roald Dahl’s classic children’s novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this golden ticket will grant owners unlimited access to the festival’s sessions and events, plus a host of other prizes.

Dhs20,000 is a lot of money… so what are these other prizes?

Well, apart from gaining entry to all sessions at the festival, the tickets will also grant owners entrance to exclusive festival experiences, and you will be given the VIP treatment.

That means you don’t have to stand in lines to enter any sessions, you will get to go straight to the front of book signing queues, attend events in reserved seatings, and you will also be able to join in some exclusive author-only events.

You will also receive a Montegrappa rose gold plated pen with an 18K gold nib worth $1,000 (that’s nearly Dhs3,700), and for an amazing cultural fix, courtesy of Dubai Culture, you will gain free access to all Dubai museums throughout March for you and a plus one.

So, how do I own a golden ticket?

There are three ways on how you can get your hands on a golden ticket…

One ticket can be found at the end of a treasure hunt held at Festival City. The first clue is available on the Emirates Lit Fest website and all you have to do is know the answer to the riddle to get to the next stage.

The treasure hunt starts today and is open until February 24. Winners will be notified before February 27.

The second ticket, and another way to snag a golden ticket is on the Helen Farmer show on Dubai Eye radio that is also launching today. You can find out more information about it here.

If all else fails, the last three tickets are available for purchase on the festival’s website for Dhs20,000 and they are on sale right now.

Take note though, there is an age limit of 18 and above in order to own a golden ticket.

The festival runs from March 1 to March 9 and regular tickets are available for sale too.
