Not everyone who has a private jet uses it for reasons this charitable…

Not everyone who has their own plane uses it for selfless activities – but then not everyone is H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Vice President of the UAE and ruler of Dubai has sent his private cargo jet to Mozambique, which was hit by a devastating cyclone last week.

According to a Tweet by Dubai Media Office, Sheikh Mohammed issued a directive for his B747 plane to deliver much needed humanitarian assistance to those most affected by the natural disaster in Mozambique.

The first airlift with 97-metric-tonne of humanitarian aid sent by members of International Humanitarian City (IHC) took off from Dubai on Tuesday and has since arrived at Maputo Int’l Airport in the capital of Mozambique.

The aircraft from the IHC was loaded with medicine, telecommunications equipment, tents, and shelter toolkits which came from stocks maintained at the IHC in Dubai.

The critically needed supplies are destined for the coastal city of Beira, Mozambique’s fourth largest city which was battered severely by the cyclone Idai last Thursday night.

Cyclone Idai hit Mozambique’s fourth largest city of Beira last Thursday with winds of more than 177 km/h. According to aid officials,  the cyclone has destroyed up to 90 per cent of the city and its neighbouring areas.
