The brand new: Twenty Three

Media City’s brand new rooftop bar, Twenty Three, is unsurprisingly found on the 23rd floor of the new Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City Hotel. Split between two terraces and an indoor space, it’s set to become our go-to after work sundowner spot thanks to its panoramic views across the golf course. Head down for happy hour (it runs from 4.23pm to 7.23pm), and enjoy drinks for Dhs23.

Twenty Three, Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City, Media City, 4pm to 3am, daily. Tel: (04) 525 7666. movenpick.com

New brunch: Akira Back

Back at Brunch is the brand new brunch offering from sleek Japanese Korean restaurant Akira Back at W Dubai – The Palm. It promises an extenisve menu of dishes served to the table sharing style, such as the Hirame Carpaccio, Grilled Octopus, and Tuna Tataki. Diving into the mains, guests can select one option from options including black cod, Wagyu don and Jidori chicken. Completing the menu is a sharing platter of salted popcorn and coconut sorbet, mochi, yuzu citrus and black and white sesame cake.

New menu: Scalini

Cosy traditional Italian Scalini is tucked away in the Four Seasons Jumeirah restaurant village, and has just added a host of new dishes to its delicious menu. Guests can now start with new antipasti dishes such as the Carpaccio Robespierre con Tartufo, thin slices of braised beef topped with a layer of black truffle, mustard and rosemary; and Treccia di Bufala, plaited buffalo mozzarella with aromatic oregano that is perfect for sharing. Main courses are now extended to Pizza reminiscent of Naples, with Pizza Margherita with rich mozzarella, ripe tomatoes and basil and Pizza Tartufo, white creamy pizza with truffles both added to the menu. Health conscious diners can opt for Mista Quinoa, a nourishing salad of quinoa, avocado, tomatoes and lettuce, or Insalata gi Gameri, a crisp salad with prawns.
